Down South got it's start back in 2005 when owner and head chef, Dave Tapilla passed through the area and was looking for a good home-cooked southern meal, and a refreshing glass of whiskey after a long days travel. None of the local watering holes fit his fancy, so with an already established career as a chef for 10 years, Dave decided to open up Down South and spread his passion of good southern food and whiskey after falling in love with the community and beauty of the area.
